SOUTHERN SAINTS FOOTBALL CLUB
RECRUITMENT MEETING 30/11/2009
PRESENT: General, Ronnie, Louie, Foxy, Tas, Shannon
SUPERS:
- This year the Super Rules team played in the order of 60 different players throughout the season.
- Many of these 60 players were committed to playing Masters and Over 47’s.
- We needed to draw on favours to field a competitive team this season.
- The 2010 Supers team require about 15 new players for the season 2010 to be a real force in what was this year First Division and will next year be renamed Premier Division.
- A minimum of 10 new players is required for Supers to realistically field a competitive side.
- t was recognised that as well as the numbers required, the quality of the players was also important.
- This situation has arisen due to:
- The number of retirements at the end of the 2009 season.
- Our inability, over the past years to consistently recruit the number of players around the 35 year age group that is required for us to be sustainable.
- Injuries, this being an issue that all clubs have every season, but must be factored into our thinking.
- Changes in the economy that have resulted in a change of work-related commitments for many
player.

Ronnie will approach all local newspapers with an article about our Club. The article will have follow-up details for all interested parties.
